Scalable Cities Roadshow P2P Event in Leipzig - Digital Twins for Energy Transition and Climate Neutrality

This in-person Peer-to-Peer (P2P) event, organised by Scalable Cities and the City of Leipzig, titled "Smart and Climate Neutral Digital Twins for Energy Transition and Climate Neutrality", will take place in Leipzig on June 10–11, 2025.

The event aims to bring together 10 to 12 cities and public bodies interested in sharing their experiences on implementing Digital Twins to support climate neutrality policies and projects.

Participating cities will receive €900 in financial support to cover travel expenses, including transportation, accommodation, and meals.

Objectives and Learning Pillars

The primary goal of this event is to foster knowledge exchange and best practices on the use of Digital Twins as strategic tools for cities to achieve climate neutrality and an effective energy transition.

Participants will engage with real-world use cases, innovative governance models, and sustainable business strategies that facilitate scalable urban development. The event will feature Digital Twin experts, financial specialists, and business model professionals, alongside city representatives, to create a dynamic mutual learning environment.

The workshop is structured around three key learning pillars:

  • Pillar 1: The Role of Digital Twins in Climate Neutrality – The Leipzig Experience
  • Pillar 2: Business Models and Financial Sustainability for Digital Twins
  • Pillar 3: Infrastructure, Interoperability, and Governance in a Digital Twin City Platform

Event Schedule

  • June 10 (Optional): Participants can attend selected sessions at Leipzig's Data Week, a major European event on digital innovation, free of charge.
  • June 11: The main workshop and knowledge exchange sessions will take place.
